New Firmware Released v1.6.9

As promised, our latest firmware is now available to all of our customers.

Please note that this firmware is only applicable to early bird purchases.

(Pre-orders from the FIRST and SECOND delivery cycle only).

The third delivery cycle (and all standard orders made after that) are ALREADY UP TO DATE!

To check which version firmware you have installed, simply click on the All Apps button on your device. Then go to System Update. This application will display which version you have currently installed. If it displays v1.6.9, then you are already up to date. If it displays a lower number, this means that you should update your firmware!

Please note: the update needs to be done using your PC and not via the System Update app. The reason for this is because we have a dual boot system running (2 operating systems installed), it is much safer to do a clean install using the flash method on your PC.

XMEDEX has been working with RockChip and our partners to optimize the system. The main changes include:

* Optimized native 4K playback with the standard Android Video Player. Big improvements & stunning 4K playback experience.

* New 4K internal video codecs

* New HD Audio internal codecs – bug fixes after reported from customers using some 5.1 receivers.

* X-Media Center updated and based on Kodi 15.2, with additional RK video codecs and tweaks

* Ubuntu totally revamped on a new version, new layout, new features. Better HD video playback. Ubuntu Software Center pre-installed & more.

Great, so how do I get the new Firmware?!

XMEDEX firmware is only available to XMEDEX customers.

In order to obtain the new firmware, please contact us at the following address:

info@xmedex.com.au

You will need to quote your Order Number, as well as the name used to make the purchase.

If you have forgotten your Order Number or no longer have the Confirmation Email which was sent to you upon purchase, please click here to go to the “My Account” page.

Once you log in to your account, you will have all your order history available. If you have forgotten your username/password, simply click on the “forgot password” button to reset it.
